After one week of no training at all (except for Qigong & joint mobility of course) due to feeling ill and an old hip injury that is still causing some problems I finally started training again yesterday.
Today I decided to do some GS style 32kg KB Snatches to see where I stand. Considering the fact that I was sick and didn't really focus on snatches except for some very low volume with the 16kg bell in my training I was very surprised how easy it was. I had some more reps in the tank but didn't want to risk ripping my hands.
Looking at the vid I think I must concentrate on keeping the bell closer to my body in the downswing (not that it's my only problem...)
Also, I learned that bacon & eggs, sausage, beans, coffee and chocolate are definitely not a good pre-workout snack... ;)

Incredible effort, Oliver!
AntwortenLöschenIt's interesting to see which performances athletes can pull off after a week or two of re/prehab work only.
Their batteries are fully recharged and their rejuvenated bodies scream for action. And here you have it: Your personal best as a result of getting back to a fully loaded state of being in power.
Incredible, once again :)
well done oliver! strong comeback!
AntwortenLöschenThanks a lot, Dominik & Simon!!!
AntwortenLöschen@Simon: Too true! Especially for Snatches I find that I do much better on a lower volume with a lighter bell with the focus on technique coupled with loads of heavy 1A swings
